Our Afternoon Tea began with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. They were neatly plated and well-presented.
The sandwiches are served on a variety of artisan breads. These included rosemary ham with red pepper tapenade, classic egg mayonnaise with chives, smoked salmon with capers and red onion, and cucumber with apple and dill crème fraîche.
Each was thoughtfully crafted with a balance of flavour and texture, combining richness, creaminess, and freshness. The smoked salmon was a highlight for us!
The next tier featured both plain and raisin buttermilk scones. These were served warm with clotted cream, jam, and lemon curd. The scones had a golden, slightly crisp outer layer and a soft, fluffy interior – absolutely perfect!
The final tier, the sweet selection, was beautifully presented and just as delicious. It included an apple frangipane tart, a jasmine-scented macaron, a salted maple caramel pumpkin cake, and a Black Forest cake. Each of these featured fruit and spice infusions for a balanced mix of flavours.
Classic Afternoon Tea is priced at €60 per person, and Champagne Afternoon Tea with a glass of Perrier-Jouët Brut Champagne is €80 per person.
Overall, our Afternoon Tea experience at the Sugar Loaf Lounge was excellent. Even though it was busy, the staff remained friendly and accommodating. Despite the occasional wait, their warm service made the experience enjoyable from start to finish.
It offered the perfect blend of relaxation and elegance, making it an ideal way to unwind while taking in the stunning surroundings.
