Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa in Mauritius will reopen on 15th October 2026 following a four-month renovation and coastal restoration project timed to coincide with the property’s 55th anniversary.

The refurbishment, led by JFA Architects, focuses on updating key guest areas while preserving the resort’s established look and feel.

L’Oasis restaurant has been completely redesigned as the central feature, now offering a brighter, more open space for up to 450 guests with a strong emphasis on natural materials and local design influences.

A new Corner Café has also been introduced, while the Beachfront Junior Suites, Senior Suites and Garden Suites have been refreshed to improve comfort without altering their original character.

The Beachcomber Boutique has been reworked to showcase local artisans alongside resort wear and specialty food products.

In parallel, the resort is addressing long-standing coastal erosion affecting the beach. The shoreline has retreated by approximately 40 metres since the late 1960s, with ongoing annual erosion in some areas. Between May and September 2026, a restoration project is underway using submerged geotextile structures and 13,500 cubic metres of sand to rebuild and stabilise the beach. The initiative is designed to strengthen coastal resilience, protect infrastructure and preserve public access to the shoreline.

Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, founded in 1952, is a leading Mauritian hospitality group operating eight properties across the island’s north, west and south coasts, recognised for its focus on service, prime location and exceptional guest experience.
