intage Cocktail Club (VCC) is a speakeasy type bar and restaurant, located in the heart of Temple Bar. This hidden gem can be found on Crown Alley, behind an unassuming steel black door marked only with the lettering VCC and a doorbell to enter.

The reservations are done in five separate sittings – 1.30pm to 3pm, 3.15pm to 4.45pm, 5pm to 6.30pm, 6.45pm to 8.45pm and 9pm to 11pm. You cannot access the bar until the time of your sitting. We arrived a little early so we had to wait outside, which definitely added to the novelty!

VCC is set over 3 floors, including a roof terrace. It is a quirky 1920’s style bar with vintage trinkets and antique furniture. The décor is amazing throughout, with a different ambiance in each area. The indoor areas are intimate, dark, candlelit rooms with plenty of character, and the roof terrace is a bright, open air space with a good buzz.

The extensive 25-page cocktail menu is somewhat overwhelming with so many options to choose from. The majority of the cocktails were priced at €14.95 each. I opted for the “Condor and Curly Sue” cocktail which was Beefeater Gin, Apple, Rhubarb and Vanilla, Fresh Citrus over Soda Water and my husband had a Whiskey Sour.

Each cocktail is made from scratch, using premium spirits and fresh locally sourced ingredients. Both of our cocktails were delicious and well presented. The service was very efficient. They also serve food, but we were just stopping by for a pre-dinner cocktail.
If you are looking for a truly unique cocktail experience, then this is the place for you!
