Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced plans for its first alpine resort, set to open in Courchevel 1850 in France in time for the 2028 winter season. Developed in collaboration with Art de Vivre, the resort will occupy a prime position within the Jardin Alpin – the most elevated and coveted enclave of Courchevel 1850 – with sweeping views across the Tarentaise Valley.

The resort will feature 50 guestrooms and suites, each generously proportioned, many with furnished private balconies framing the surrounding peaks. Interiors are by Humbert & Poyet, with architecture by JMV – a pairing that signals a refined, design-led approach in line with the Raffles brand.

Dining will be central to the experience, with two destination restaurants, a signature bar, an elegant tea lounge, and expansive winter garden terraces. A spa and recovery offering will combine traditional alpine wellness with advanced therapies rooted in longevity science, alongside thermal experiences, a fitness centre, and a panoramic swimming pool.

Raffles Courchevel will become the brand’s sixth European address, joining Raffles London at The OWO, Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, Raffles Europejski Warsaw, and Raffles Istanbul, with Raffles Lake Como also set to open in 2027.

For a brand synonymous with elegance and personalised service, the move into alpine luxury feels like a natural evolution. Courchevel 1850 – with its Michelin-starred dining, world-class skiing, and enduring glamour – makes a fitting setting.
